TidyBench is built so that your files never leave your device. This policy explains the little personal data we do handle, and why. The data controller is [LEGAL NAME], [BUSINESS ADDRESS].

Your files

Every tool runs inside your web browser. Files you add are read and processed on your own computer or phone. They are never uploaded to our servers or anyone else’s, and we can’t see them. When you close or clear the page, they’re gone from TidyBench.

What’s stored on your device

• Offline copy of the site. Your browser saves TidyBench’s pages and code so the tools load fast and work offline. This contains no personal data.
• Pro licence. If you activate Pro, your licence key, whether it’s active and when it renews are saved in your browser’s local storage, so Pro stays on. If you click Get Pro, the Paddle order number is kept briefly until your licence is set up.

You can remove both at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings, or with “Remove licence from this device” on the Sign in page.

TidyBench itself doesn’t set cookies.

Buying Pro: Paddle

Payments are handled by Paddle.com, our reseller and merchant of record. When you buy, you give your name, email address, payment details and billing country to Paddle, not to us. Paddle’s checkout runs only on our pricing page, and may use cookies it needs for payment and fraud prevention. Paddle processes this data as an independent controller under the Paddle privacy policy.

Paddle shares with us what we need to run your subscription: your email address, country, what you bought, and the status of your subscription. We use this to give you your licence, provide support and keep records for tax and accounting.

Checking your licence

To turn Pro on, and about once a week after that, your browser sends your licence key or Paddle order number to our server. The server asks Paddle whether your subscription is active and sends back the answer. We don’t keep a separate database of customers; Paddle holds the subscription record.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details (such as browser type and the page asked for) to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. It does this on our behalf as a processor, and keeps this data only briefly.

Analytics and ads

We don’t currently use analytics or show ads. If we add either, we will update this policy before we do. We will never record file names or file contents.

Why we use your data (legal bases)

• To provide Pro you’ve paid for, including licence checks and support: performing our contract with you.
• Keeping tax and accounting records: legal obligation.
• Keeping the site secure and working: our legitimate interest in running a reliable service.

How long we keep it

We keep subscription and purchase records for as long as you have Pro, then for up to 6 years to meet tax and accounting rules. Support emails are kept for up to 2 years after the conversation ends.

International transfers

Paddle and Cloudflare may process data outside the UK and EU. Where they do, they use legal safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy to take elsewhere. Email [CONTACT EMAIL]. For payment data, you can also contact Paddle directly.

If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to your data protection authority. In the UK that’s the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

TidyBench is meant for work use and isn’t aimed at children. Pro can only be bought by adults.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, such as adding analytics, we’ll say so on the site before it takes effect.
